The talented Mr Thombre has pointed out that we dont have CATEGORIES in this site. On further research, I have discovered that it is possible to make that happen, but its a hack ![]()
So … should we move this over to wordpress.com, which has support for categories ?
Sample site is already up here.
A post can also have MULTIPLE categories …
A limitation is that the templates (look and feel) are not as customizable as blogger ! But i think y'all are not too worried about that
Of course, you will have to create accounts over at wordpress.com
We can actually import this blog into wordpress at any time.
But wordpress is not free, right? I also think you should not have discouraged Madhu as soon as he posted something. I was honestly surprised to actually see his name here, har har har
… but I agree, how about posting *whatever* and give your own opinion as well. Oh, and: we should also post pictures …
Also, Navin is boycotting this site. He thinks it’s pointless. (This is in contrast to his latest decision to be nice to people, so I think he should at least give it a try in order to entertain us …)
thank you, dani. not the best form of encouragement i must say. i was surprised myself that I was willing to post anything:-)
okokok .. i publicly apologize for discouraging madhu ! and yeah .. we should post “whatever”. no more controlling vibes from me
and btw – wordpress is free. you can use it at wordpress.com for a hosted blog (which is exactly like blogger) or on your own site for your own blog (what i use at kontaminate.com)
The web has moved on to search vs browse. Instead of categories, we could use tags attached to each post. One could then search for pertinent information based on those. For instance, if I write about a restaurant in spain, I tag it with Spain, Europe, food etc. and it will show up on any such search
